As a tutor, my overall aim is twofold. In the short term, the immediate needs of the student will be addressed, as I will be providing individualized support for each and every student. With this support comes a deeper comprehension and an increasing understanding of the material which naturally lead to an improvement in grades and academic achievement. In the long term, the focus is to help guide students towards becoming self-sufficient and eventually independent learners by unlocking their innate curiosity and instilling in them the joy of learning. Learning how to learn is the ultimate goal in this educational journey.

Typically, we will have an initial meeting after which I will be able to evaluate and assess the student to formulate an individualized study plan. The overall plan will be tailored to the student focusing on the student’s comprehension of a particular subject matter as well as working on executive function skills, organizational and motivational techniques, and various study strategies.

All hour-long sessions will be carried out online. Support available in the following areas:

SUBJECTS:

Spanish: All levels

Physics: 9th - 12th grades (including IB Higher Level)

Biology: 9th - 12th grades

English, science, math, social studies: 4th - 8th grades
